The HVAC Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of an HVAC company, ensuring that projects, installations, maintenance, and repairs are performed efficiently, on time, and within budget. This role combines leadership, technical expertise, and operational management to ensure the highest standards of service delivery and customer satisfaction. The Operations Manager plays a critical role in driving business growth, improving operational performance, and leading a team of technicians and administrative staff.
Operations Management:
- Oversee the scheduling and dispatching of HVAC technicians for service, installations, and maintenance.
- Ensure all projects and services are completed within the prescribed timeline and budget.
- Develop and implement operational processes and procedures to increase efficiency and quality of service.
- Track and analyze performance metrics (e.g., completion rates, customer satisfaction, response times) and report to senior management.
Team Leadership:
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of HVAC technicians, installers, and support staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide feedback, and support the professional development of team members.
- Ensure technicians are properly trained on safety standards, equipment, and the latest industry practices.
- Foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Ensure exceptional customer service by addressing and resolving escalated customer concerns.
- Ensure high-quality installations, repairs, and maintenance to meet customer needs and industry standards.
- Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure seamless communication and customer satisfaction.
Budgeting and Financial Management:
- Develop and manage the department's operational budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies, ensuring timely availability of materials for projects.
- Control operational costs and track financial performance to meet profit margin targets.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Promote and enforce safety protocols and OSHA standards on job sites and within the office.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards.
Quality Control:
- Conduct regular field visits to inspect the quality of HVAC installations and maintenance work.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement corrective measures to maintain high service standards.
- Oversee troubleshooting and repairs to ensure work is completed to satisfaction.
Technology & Systems Management:
- Oversee the implementation and use of software for scheduling, dispatching, and tracking jobs (e.g., service management systems).
- Ensure that the company maintains and updates its equipment and tools to stay competitive in the industry.
Growth and Strategy:
- Support company growth by identifying opportunities to expand service offerings or improve current operations.
- Assist in developing strategies to increase market share, improve service delivery, and enhance customer retention.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with employees, customers, and suppliers.
- Proficient with HVAC systems and tools, as well as industry standards and regulations.
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and schedules effectively.
- Knowledge of HVAC-related software and tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and conflict resolution skills.
Certifications:
- HVAC Technician Certification (EPA 608 certification, NATE, or similar) is preferred.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- 5+ years of experience in HVAC operations, including hands-on experience in service, installations, or project management.
- Previous leadership or management experience in the HVAC industry is strongly preferred.
Compensation: $75,000.00 per year
