Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Harvey, IL
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team and ensure the smooth operation of our facility. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to keep production running efficiently and safely. The ideal candidate will have experience in automation, electrical systems, and fabrication, as well as a strong mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair motor control systems, replacing components such as fuses, motor starters, and relays.
- Troubleshoot and maintain 3-phase and 1-phase equipment, including pumps, agitators, air compressors, hydraulic systems, and packaging equipment.
- Work with plant instrumentation, including flow meters, level meters, temperature transmitters, and pressure transmitters.
- Perform electrical tasks such as wiring and unwiring motors, drives, valves, contactors, and instrumentation devices.
- Troubleshoot and respond to alarms in PLC-controlled systems.
- Ensure mechanical compliance with state regulations.
- Conduct fabrication work, including welding and piping assembly.
- Maintain and repair mobile equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and pallet jacks.
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to work permit procedures.
- Interface with warehouse management systems and troubleshoot ASRS fault codes.
- Assist in troubleshooting batch system programs to support operations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; Technical School Certification is a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in a similar maintenance role.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with PLC programming and automation.
- Proficiency in electrical and plumbing systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, including single-line diagrams, ladder diagrams, and isometric drawings.
- Skilled in welding and piping assembly.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
Compensation & Benefits:
